New Year’s Eve 2016: What’s On in Whistler

Whistler for NYE is a no brainer. What better way to start the New Year then skiing or shredding down some epic lines at North America’s best ski resort? Each year Whistler hosts some of the greatest New Year’s Eve parties in the world and the best part is, there is something for everyone. Families, couples, party-goers and quiet-types will all find something that appeals. Here is an overview of what’s happening in Whistler for New Years.

Whistler Presents: New Year’s Eve Celebrations First Nights

Whistler Village comes alive each New Year’s Eve with a family-friendly atmosphere of fun and festivity. This year the event will take place across three village venues: Millennium Place, Whistler Conference Centre, and Whistler Olympic Plaza. Ticket holders get six hours of exclusive events. The night will include live entertainment, outdoor ice skating, games, crafts and activities. There will be an early countdown for the young kids and a youth dance for teens aged 12 – 18. Tickets can be purchased online for the event. There is also a free Fire and Ice Show just before midnight at Skier’s Plaza plus a world-class fireworks display at midnight! This is an alcohol-free event.

Sparkle the Night Away Dinner & Dance | Fairmont Chateau Whistler

This sophisticated and lavish gala includes a gourmet buffet and a dance party featuring the best party hits from yesterday and today. The event kicks off at 8:30pm and tickets are $199 per person.

Tapley’s Toga New Year’s Eve | Tapley’s Neighbourhood Pub

Who doesn’t love a good toga party? Indulge in copious amounts of merriment while you dawn your finest sheets Roman-style. The party begins at 8:00pm, tickets are free in advance with a local’s sticker or $25 at the door.

Buffalo Bills New Year’s Eve Dance Party | Buffalo Bills

Dress to impress at Whistler’s best NYE dance party! DJ Peacefrog will be spinning in style with plenty of champagne and glamour flowing throughout the night. Party starts at 7:00, tickets are $65 in advance or $85 at the door.

Masquerade in the Mountains | Garfinkles

Masquerade in the Mountains is Whistler’s hottest ticket in town. Garfinkles will be transformed into a winter wonderland as party goers don their finest attire and most elegant masquerade masks. The masquerade party begins at 7:00pm, tickets start at $55.

Champagne Supernova NYE Party | The Longhorn Saloon

The best place to view Whistler’s epic fireworks display is The Longhorn. The party will be everything glitter and gold with a steady flow of champagne and music by MC Adam. The party kicks off at 8:00pm and tickets are $100.

5 Course Fine Dining Extravaganza I The Bearfoot Bistro

Serving up the best menu this New Year’s Eve is Bearfoot Bistro’s Fine Dining Extravaganza. The night includes a decadent feast cooked up by Executive Chef Melissa Craig plus live music, DJ, party favours and dancing. Tickets are $298 per person and there are three seatings to choose from.

Remember the public transits are FREE 6pm – 4am on New Year’s Eve so there is no reason to drive anywhere! There will also be additional buses put on to cope with demand.
